The rules every HoldBackup guide follows.
Independence
No maker or retailer pays to be covered, sees a guide before it goes live, or has a say in what it says. HoldBackup earns from affiliate links, and the disclosure explains how. Every monetized page says so before the first store button.
Sources
For a spec, we use the maker's own page, datasheet or manual. For safety, we use government agencies and the safety bodies that publish the rule. If nobody publishes a figure, the page says so. We don't fill the gap with a guess.
On some UPS and power station picks, we also summarize what owners say in public forum threads, and link where it came from. AI tools help gather these reports. We don't verify them, and we don't use Amazon reviews or makers' store reviews.
Numbers
A number is manufacturer-rated, calculated, or measured by a named source, and the page says which. How we make these guides explains each one. We don't test products, and no page claims to.
Safety
Generator guides carry carbon monoxide warnings. Anything wired into a home points to a licensed electrician. We never tell you to backfeed a panel. Where a guide and your maker's manual disagree, follow the manual.
AI
AI models draft the generated guides and help check them. Those pages say so. Hand-built guides and their pick cards are put together by the team.
Credit
Guides are credited to the HoldBackup Team, not to individuals.
Corrections
Send a correction through the contact page. We check it against the source. If the guide was wrong, we fix it and move its updated date. A safety error goes first.
