Jackery vs EcoFlow

Two pairs that compete head to head: the 1,000 Wh units most homes start with, and the whole-home units that sit behind a transfer switch. Every number is the maker's, and the verdict is by job.

Jackery and EcoFlow sell into the same two jobs: a 1,000 Wh unit for a fridge, the network and some lights, and a whole-home unit that sits behind a transfer switch. Below, each pair sits side by side on the numbers both makers publish. Where one maker publishes a figure and the other does not, the table says so.

If the job is a fridge, the refrigerator guide sizes it from the compressor up. If the job is the house, the home battery backup page puts these two beside three others.

Both makers' figures, each under its own conditions. Jackery's page gives 1,024 Wh in its header and 1,070 Wh in its spec table; this uses the spec table. The runtime table on this site turns either capacity into hours by arithmetic, not a test.

Who should get which

Get Jackery if

  • The lighter box in the 1,000 Wh class, 23.8 lb against 27.6
  • A unit you set up once and never expand
  • The biggest surge at the whole-home end: 14,400 W

Skip Jackery if

  • You expect to add a battery to a 1,000 Wh unit
  • You charge from solar beyond 400 W on the small unit
  • You buy from an unauthorized seller: Jackery ties its warranty to where you bought

Get EcoFlow if

  • Growing the system later, at both sizes here
  • The faster stated switchover on the small unit: under 10 ms
  • Fast recharging from the wall or solar
  • A smart sub-panel that switches the house in 20 ms

Skip EcoFlow if

  • You want one piece at the whole-home end: the Pro Ultra is two heavy parts
  • You want 240 V output while charging from 240 V; EcoFlow says no

How we compared

  1. Pairs that a buyer actually weighs against each other: the same class, the same job.
  2. Capacity, output and surge as each maker rates them, in the maker's units.
  3. Chemistry and the cycle rating, as the maker states it, with its own cut-off (70% or 80%).
  4. Expansion, solar input and charge time, because those decide the second outage, not the first.
  5. Warranty as worded on the US page, including who the maker says it covers.
  6. Any CPSC notice on either brand.

Every number is the maker's, from the spec page or manual linked beside it. HoldBackup has no lab, so nothing on this page was tested by us, and Amazon sets the price the button shows.

Questions

Is Jackery or EcoFlow more reliable?

Neither maker publishes failure rates, and HoldBackup has no units to run, so nobody can answer that honestly from the outside. What both publish is a cycle rating: Jackery rates its current LiFePO4 units at 4,000 cycles to 70% or more, EcoFlow at 4,000 cycles to 80%. Those are the makers' claims under their test conditions.

Which brand's warranty is better?

On the 1,000 Wh units, Jackery lists 3 years plus 2 extended, and says the warranty applies to purchases from Jackery, Jackery-branded platforms or authorized dealers; EcoFlow lists 5 years. On the whole-home units both list 5 years. Read the seller terms before you buy either.

Can I add batteries later?

On EcoFlow, yes at every size here: the DELTA 3 Plus takes an extra battery to 5 kWh, and the DELTA Pro Ultra grows to 90 kWh. On Jackery, the Explorer 1000 v2 takes none, and the Explorer 5000 Plus grows to 60 kWh with its own battery packs.

Why are there no prices on this page?

Prices change and HoldBackup has no feed for them. Amazon sets the price the store button shows, and the makers' own stores can differ. Compare the two before buying.

Where does the price button go?

Straight to Amazon. Amazon sets the price and availability, and both can change.
